NPP’s P S Syiem files nomination for KHADC Chairman

SHILLONG: National People’s Party (NPP) MDC from Sohryngkham, Pyniaid Sing Syiem has filed nomination papers for the post of Chairman in Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on Tuesday.

The election to the post of Chairman will be held on Wednesday. The election has been necessitated following recent resignation of P N Syiem from the post.

Pyniaid has expressed his gratitude to all the 20 MDCs present of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for their unanimous decision to nominate him as a candidate for the Chairman.

On the other hand, United Democratic Forum (UDF) which is the opposition coalition, has not nominated any candidate for the post.
