NEHU attends NITI Aayog meet

SHILLONG: The North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) vice chancellor (VC), SK Srivastava, and his team participated in a meeting held by NITI Aayog with VCs of central universities in the Himalayan states via video conferencing on Wednesday.
The meeting, which was chaired by Rajiv Kumar, vice chairman of NITI Aayog, discussed the launch of studies in the five thematic areas by the Consortium of the Central Universities of the Himalayan States under the initiative of NITI Aayog.
The five thematic areas are enumeration and valuation of the economic impact of female labour in the hills, agro-ecology in Himalayan states with special emphasis on marketing, development of eco-friendly and cost-effective tourism in hills, opportunities of livelihood to check migration from hills and water conservation and harvesting strategies.
