Meghalaya to set cattle ranches to boost milk production

GUWAHATI: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on the occasion of World Milk Day has stated that Meghalaya government is starting a scheme for Cattle Ranches, which will be first of its kind in India to boost milk production in the state.

Meghalaya Milk Mission is being implemented with an investment of Rs. 220 cr by National Cooperative Development Council (NCDC).

The Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has informed that Meghalaya government has already set up 44 Dairy Cooperative Societies.
