Spike in Covid-19 cases continues in Assam, tally reaches 1463

GUWAHATI:  Seventy-three new cases of COVID-19 positive — 30 air travellers arriving from Kuwait, 12 in Cachar, 10 in Kamrup, 9 in Karimganj, 7 in Kokrajhar, 2 in Hailakandi, 1 each from Barpeta, Nagaon and Jorhat – in the state took the tally to 1463 at 1o pm on Monday.

Meanwhile, seven more patients have been discharged from Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) today after they had tested negative for COVID-19 in two consecutive occasions. Thirteen COVID-19 patients of Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) and seven others from Jorhat Medical College and Hospital were also released today after they had recovered from the disease.
