SHILLONG: The Indian Institute of Management – Shillong (IIM-Shillong) will host an e-Symposia series on Emergent North East India: Strategic and Developmental Imperatives starting Friday.
The e-Symposia series, which is spread between June and August, will include deliberations on the Centre’s current policy-related work in the development planning of six critical sectors — Tourism, Horticulture, Logistics, Handicraft, Handloom and Business Process Outsourcing — in the North East.
The series, which is organised by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research & Analysis of IIM-Shillong, will be attended by DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh as chief guest amidst a host of speakers including Inder Jit Singh, Secretary Ministry of DoNER and K Moses Chalai, Secretary of North Eastern Council (NEC) among others. The chairman of IIM-Shillong’s Board of Governors (BoG), Shishir Bajoria, will welcome participants of the event.
