Scholars, children celebrate Environment Day

SHILLONG: On World Environment Day, the Research Scholars’ Forum NEHU on Friday organized a “World Environment Day From Home” due to COVID-19 pandemic. Members participated from home by planting saplings and other creative work to pay tribute to the environment.
Meanwhile, Family Strengthening Programme, SOS Children’s Village Shillong celebrated the day by conducting painting, drawing competition and sapling plantation at Pynthor, Umktieh, Mynsain, Sohriewblei and Diengsohmaud – Mawbsein of Bhoirymbong Block on Friday with support from members of Bal Panchayat and Self Help Groups.
