17 Assam schools with zero pass percentage in HSLC to be shut down

GUWAHATI: Assam Education Department will shut down 17 schools across the state for registered zero pass percentage on the HSLC Examination 2020, results of which were declared on June 6.
State Education Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that all the teachers of these schools which are being shut down permanently, will be transferred immediately.
Total 64.80 per cent students out of over 3.42 lakh examinees crossed the barrier in the HSLC Examination 2020 in Assam conducted by Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA).
Meanwhile, the admission process to higher secondary level courses in educational institutions in the state will be conducted online in view of the unabated COVID-19 pandemic
The Education Minister announced, “SEBA has declared result of H.S.L.C on 6th June 2020 and this year HS admission will be conducted through online mode due to COVID-19 pandemic”.
Dr Sarma also informed, “This year, it has been planned to include students’ bank account number with IFSC code in the application form for admission in the degree level courses to make it much easier to enrol for the courses”.
