SHILLONG: A day after Chief Minister Conrad Sangma expressed concern over the situation arising out of fresh floods in Garo Hills, an activist from West Garo Hills has exhorted the state government to render measures to subdue the damage.
In a statement, the activist Ishraful Hoque has called for prompt restoration of subway at Bangalkhata and an immediate start of embankment protection of Rongai River.
He has also urged the state government to waive off KCC loan and instead provide compensation to the genuine farmers.
“I urge upon the administration to immediately restore the washed-away subway at Bangalkhata village as it has causes huge problems of the thousands of the commuters of the adjacent areas.
