Lockdown relaxations give rise to theft cases in state

SHILLONG: The lockdown relaxation has led to a series of theft cases in various parts of the state. The target of the miscreants ranged from buildings, individual houses to even hospitals.
According to police, on June 20, Dr. Valensha lodged a complaint that miscreants broke into the Mission Nethralaya, Jingkieng Nongthymmai and stole Rs 42,000 from pharmacy room, Rs 1,000 from the reception, Rs 5,000 from optical room and Rs 50,000 from optometrist room.
Earlier on June 18, Zindabath M Sangma lodged a complaint that around 7 pm, miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-08D-9656) from Tura Civil Hospital Compound, West Garo Hills (WGH).
On June 19, Chandra Mohan Jha lodged a complaint that miscreants broke into his house at Crinoline Falls and ransacked the place and stole certain items.
On the same day, Donkupar Kharbani lodged a complaint that around 6.15 pm, miscreants broke into his residence at Mawlai Mawiong Rim, Block-3 and stole Rs 60,000 and gold ornaments.
In West Jaintia Hills, Riangkhroo Laloo lodged a complaint that on the night of June 18, Reward Dkhar (24) stole Rs 70,000 and one mixer-grinder from his residence at Moosalangkat.
Eabadul Islam lodged a complaint that on June 18 around 12.30 pm, miscreants broke into his house at Upper Lachumiere, Block-3 and stole jewelry valued around Rs 1,05,000 and Rs 5,000.
Earlier on June 17 midnight, Rajendra Swami of M/s Abhi Coke Pvt. Ltd., Mookhep,, East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that miscreants stole, one big size wheel, two small size wheels, one motor pump, coal crashing hammer and plate, total valued around Rs 1,50,000.
Earlier on June 9, around 1 am, one Dechan @ Gandhi M Sangma stole two mobile phones and Rs 10,500 from the house of Brenith Ch Sangma at Dabit Nalsagittim, Baghmara, South Garo Hills.
Norly Ryngkhlem lodged a complaint that on June 8, his housemaid R. Rymbai stole gold ring, gold earrings and Rs 2,56,000 from his house at Wapungskur village, East Jaintia Hills.
One caught
Kelvin R Marak lodged a complaint that on June 19 around 10.30 am, one Sandy Nongsiej was caught red-handed while attempting to commit theft from his residence at Riatsamthiah.
