Rs 50,910 deficit KHADC budget presented

SHILLONG: The Deputy CEM of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Gigur Myrthong tabled a Rs 50,910 deficit budget for the year 2020-21 on Wednesday, the first day of the budget session in the Council.

The projected expenditure is  put at Rs 243,72,89,930 while the estimated revenue generation  is put at Rs 243,72,39,020.

Delivering his maiden budget speech at the KHADC, Myrthong informed that the Central government had sanctioned financial assistance in the form of grant for the excluded areas under Part IX and IX A of the Indian Constitution for the year 2019-20.

He informed that Center had released the first installment of Rs 27, 60, 39, 000 to the Council and the Council is looking forward for receiving  the second installment from the Center.  He added that the Council was able to support families affected by COVID-19 pandemic from this grant.
