SHILLONG: The CEM of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Titostarwell Chyne said that toppling of many executive committees in the past had hindered development activities and implementation of schemes of the Council.
Replying to a motion on inter-state border, the CEM, while emphasising on development work that needs to be done by the Council, said, “Allow us to work and we will perform well rather than be busy with toppling EC in the KHADC. Otherwise, the discussions here will land us nowhere”.
Echoing the CEM’s views, Deputy CEM Gigur Myrthong said the MDCs should not be self-centered.
On the other hand, Independent MDC and former CEM, PN Syiem said that if the EC works hard, it will last long.
