Ri Bhoi DC asks people not to panic

NONGPOH: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi district has asked people not to panic after one person from the district tested positive for COVID-19.
The person hailing from Mawlong Nongtluh in Ri Bhoi district returned to the village on June 24 after staying in Guwahati for two months.
The patient is asymptomatic and he is working as a driver of the vehicle which was engaged in the distribution of milk in Assam. He is undergoing treatment at a corona care centre.
“The public are hereby requested not to panic and are advised to strictly maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet, not to overcrowd in one area/shop, wearing of mask is mandatory and spitting in public place is prohibited’’, the DC advised.
The DC has also requested all auto rickshaw passengers who travelled from Jorabat to the screening point at Byrnihat between 1 pm to 4 pm on June 24 to undergo home quarantine for 14 days with self monitoring of their health by strictly adhering to the protocols issued by the government.
“If any of the COVID symptoms such as fever, cough and difficulty in breathing develop during the period of quarantine, isolate yourself and contact the district control room at 03638-232028/1077 and health helpline at 8787520449”, the DC said.
