3 held in NSUI leader murder
MANDLA: Police have arrested three more persons for their alleged involvement in the killing of local National Students Union of India (NSUI) leader Sonu Parochia here in Madhya Pradesh, an officer said on Sunday. With this, all the five accused are now in the custody of police. Parochia (28), the district general secretary of the students’ wing of the Congress, was shot dead in Mandla on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. While the prime accused Mayur Yadav (32) and Piyush Maravi were arrested from Raipur by Chhattisgarh police, hours after the incident, three others —Ayush Yadav, Ravi Yadav and Vipin Markam — were arrested later, the police officer said here. Bride dies during wedding
KANNAUJ (UP): In a tragic incident, a bride died even before the wedding rituals could be completed and the groom had to return without the bride. The incident took place in Bhagatpurwa village under Thathia police circle in Kannauj. The groom, Sanjay, arrived with his family members and the wedding rituals began on Friday night. As the rituals began 19-year-old bride Vinita, suddenly complained of uneasiness and collapsed. Her family members rushed her to a medical facility that denied her admission until she tested negative for Corona. (IANS)
Snakebite kills minor in UP
LAKHIMPUR (UP): A 15-year-old boy died after being bitten by a black cobra who had slipped inside his mosquito net at Jamalpur village. Chiko was sleeping with the other family members inside the mosquito net on Saturday, when the snake bit him. The boy screamed in pain and other family member woke up to see the snake on his bed. They managed to bring Chiko out of the bed and took him to a nearby medical facility but he was declared brought dead by the doctor. The neighbours later managed to catch the snake with the mosquito net and released him in the nearby forest area. (IANS)
Mother of slain terrorist arrested
SRINAGAR: The mother of a slain terrorist in Kashmir has been arrested under the UAPA for posing with a rifle and for allegedly recruiting terrorists. According to a police statement, Naseema Banoo, the mother of slain terrorist Tawseef, was arrested on June 20 in a criminal case under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). The police statement said that the arrest was done in compliance of provisions of law and she has been under legally sanctioned custody in the women’s police station in Anantnag since her arrest. Decomposed body found inside truck
Palghar: The body of a woman in a decomposed condition was found dumped inside a parked mini truck in Nallasopara area in Palghar district of Maharashtra on Sunday, police said. The body was found stuffed inside a plastic bag by some locals who informed the police, an official said. The deceased, who appears to be in her 30s, bore injuries on various body parts, the official said, adding that a case of murder is being registered. (PTI)
