Meghalaya govt pays ‘deferred salary’ to employees

GUWAHATI: The Meghalaya government has  given back the salaries of its employees that were deferred for the month of April along with the salary for the month July , Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed.

‘Happy to inform the Meghalaya Government Employees that the salary which was deferred for the month of April 2020 is being given back to the employees along with the June 2020 salary,’ tweeted the Chief Minister Sangma .

The Meghalaya government had deferred the salary of the employees as precautionary measure for effective management of the state finances in view of the unprecedented situation rising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
