Hotels to open in WGH, WJH

TURA/ JOWAI: Normalcy is limping back to West Garo Hills with almost all major shops and establishments being allowed to open even as the curfew in the district has been extended till July 8.
The Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Ram Singh, in an order on Wednesday, said hotels are allowed to open with strict compliance with the SOP issued by the Tourism department for which permission will have to be obtained from the DC’s office.
Restaurants, cafes, food-outlets and barber shops/beauty parlours and salons have also been allowed to open with strict compliance to all protocols and guidelines.
In Tura Town area, all shops including Tura Super Market, Urban Marketing Hub, Sundare Shopping Complex, Rikman Shopping Complex, N M Complex, Sora Complex, GHADC New Building will remain open between Monday and Saturday (9 am to 5 pm) and the same will be monitored by the Tura Municipal Board.
However, restrictions on hawkers on crowded junctions and main roads continue to be in place and all shops are to maintain social distancing strictly.
With regard to sporting activities, non-contact and indirect-contact sporting activities have been allowed subject to compliance with the SOP issued by Sports and Youth Affairs department.
The export of minor minerals is also allowed to operate with adherence to SOP issued by the Commerce and Industries department.
Other than these, all other restrictions, exemptions and advisories continue to remain the same.
In a separate order, the West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner allowed hotels to function, exempting them from the purview of the prohibitory orders issued earlier.
