TURA: A trader who operates a chain of stores, including hardware and grocery, in the heart of Williamnagar town has reportedly been cheated of several lakh rupees by one of his employees.
Trader Samir Kundu, who also owns a wholesale shop in grocery items, went to police on Tuesday to file a case after he found a huge sum of money missing from his account while checking for discrepancies.
In a police complaint, he named his shop assistant, Birdichand Sharma, of misappropriating money to a whopping tune of Rs 50 lakh, most of which was allegedly siphoned off by the accused who forged his signature in the cheque book.
