SHILLONG: Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare, Kailash Chaudhary, on Friday, stressed on the need to increase export of farmers’ produce so as to give them a better opportunity to expand and grow. Speaking during the e-symposium, organised by IIM Shillong, Chaudhary lauded the efforts of the institute despite constraints due to COVID-19.
The e-symposium was an initiative of the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research & Analysis under the aegis of IIM Shillong. Chaudhary also dwelt at length on the successful nationwide harvest amid the pandemic, which, he opined, was successful only because of the sincerity in approach of the government in working hand-in-hand with the farmers.
