TURA: The A’chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM), Phulbari Regional Unit has submitted a complaint to the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner alleging illegal appointment of non-indigenous people without the approval of the District Selection Committee (DSC) at two health centres under Phulbari and Chibinang.

In its complaint, the movement claimed that while 2 casual workers, 1 dresser and 1 grade IV were appointed at the Phulbari CHC, a Driver and an LDA has been appointed at Chibinang PHC without any kind of selection process from the DSC.

Stating that the illegal appointment has violated the Meghalaya Job Reservation Policy of 1972, the movement urged the deputy commissioner to look into the matter.

Meanwhile, in a separate letter to the Chief executive Engineer of the PWD the movement sought the immediate re-construction of the deplorable portion of the Phulbari-Chibinang PWD Road.
