Sawkmie demands probe into GHADC staff deaths

SHILLONG: Opposition chief whip and Congress MLA PT Sawkmie has expressed shock over the media reports that 21 employees had died due to the non-payment of dues by the GHADC as claimed by employees of the Council under the banner NGEA.
“I urge the chief minister to bail out the affected employees in the form of financial assistance,” Sawkmie said.
He also demanded a magisterial inquiry into the deaths of GHADC staff.
