GUWAHATI: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday presented the ‘U Tirot Sing Syiem Youth Achievement Award’ to Kitboklang Nogphlang, Scarlett Lawriniang, Pranab Pariat, Empower Warbah and Andreas H. Marwein in the programme organised by the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF) on the occasion of death anniversary of the revered freedom fighter from Meghalaya.
Earlier, paying his tribute to the freedom fighter in his twitter handle, the Chief Minister said,” On his 185th Death Anniversary, we pay homage to U Tirot Sing Syiem, the great freedom fighter of Meghalaya who fought till his last breath to prevent Khasi Hills from falling into the hands of the British colonizers.”
