Report on shop staff ‘false’

SHILLONG: The president of Police Bazar Locality, Ward No. 9, has rubbished a report circulating on the social media that an employee of Bhajanlal’s, a shop in the area, has tested positive for COVID-19, stating that the information is “baseless and fabricated” meant to spread unnecessary fear among the public.
“These messages are false, baseless and fabricated and spread unnecessary fear among the citizens. We request all citizens to cooperate with the administration in containing the COVID-19 and not to believe and spread rumours or unverified news and statements,” a statement issued here said.
