TURA: The New Tura Development Forum (NTDF) on Monday seconded the opposition made by the GSU from Dadenggre towards the resolution taken by the GHADC to grant one-time settlement to the people residing in B-Mahal areas.
“The Forum expresses its great dismay over the alleged decision of the Executive Committee of the District Council without going into details on the pros and cons of their decisions,” it said in a statement.
Condemning the alleged decision, which it said amounts to gross violation of the extant policy of the Autonomous Council, the NTDF said, “On what basis the decision was taken to grant the so-called one-time settlement rights?” “We appreciate the GSU for their prompt reaction and for taking up the matter with the District Council on time and we also strongly oppose the alleged decision to grant the settlement rights and urge the District Council authorities to immediately review and rescind their decisions,” the forum stated while cautioning the GHADC to not take such decisions without the approval of the people.
