SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner on Friday directed wholesale shops, both essential and non essential, operating from fixed premises in areas falling under Jeep Stand, Garikhana, Paltan Bazaar and areas from Anjalee Point to Mawlonghat to open from 8 am to 8 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. However, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, they have been directed to open exclusively for doorstep delivery to their retailers.
According to the DC, the magistrates in-charge and the district police will regulate the operation of the wholesale traders and will ensure due public compliance to the advisories of government.
