SHILLONG: The East Khasi Hills District Magistrate on Sunday declared the housing complex of Thomlin Nongrum, Block-II, Lawmali Pyllun, as a containment area with effect from August 9 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site.
The directive comes after the detection of high-risk contacts in the housing complex.
Containment zone lifted
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate, in another directive on Sunday, has removed the containment zone tag from the houses and premises of Kledis Mawrie, Wandalin Lyngdoh and Jokistar Kharkongor at Dong Lad Demthring, Laitkor Nongdaneng; house and premise of Risuklin Kharumnuid at Dong Mawlong, Laitkor Nongdaneng; area from the house of Biola Mawrie up to the house of Kwini Mawrie and house of Persilina Mawrie at Dong Nongmadan and Laitkor Rngi.
The DC has also removed the containment zone tag from the buildings of Kristina Kharkongor, Pangsngiat Syiem, Armillian Syiem and Syrpailin Kharir, Circle I, Mawpat and the buildings of Baleisha Pyngrope and Pulsylinda Marbaniang, Circle III, with effect from Sunday.
