Advisory for returnees

TURA: In the wake of spurt in COVID-19 cases in East Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi districts, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe, has issued an advisory for those returning from the two affected districts.
According to the advisory, the returnees will have to isolate themselves at home for a period of seven days and in case any symptom of COVID-19 is encountered, they are to contact the IDSP Helpline number (9485113132).
Those individuals returning after availing medical treatments in anyone of the hospitals in Shillong will have to contact the IDSP Helpline and will also have to report to the Corona Care Centre in Williamnagar on their arrival for testing, the advisory said, adding that 14-day home quarantine is also mandatory. The DC has advised the people to postpone or cancel travel plans to East Khasi Hills or Ri Bhoi districts unless deemed urgent.
