CM urged to release pending salaries of MCCL staff

SHILLONG: Chief Executive Member (CEM) Titos Chyne has demanded removal the head of Mawmluh Cherra Cement Limited (MCCL) and an enquiry into circumstances leading to the poor state of the MCCL.

Accompanied by office bearers of Hima Sohra and Elaka Mawmluh to meet the CM, Chyne said, “We have demanded to remove the head of the MCCL who has been there for a long time. At the same there should be an enquiry into the reasons why the MCCL is at its present situation”.

They urged the Chief Minister to release the pending salaries of the Mawmluh Cherra Cement Limited (MCCL) employees.

Secondly, he said that they have spoken to the CM to find out ways and means to help the employees.

“We also want the government to strengthen the MCCL. We do not want the MCCL to close down but as for now we are looking forward to the assistance from the state government”, Chyne said.

He said that though the government has time and again released money to the MCCL and 2019 was the target set for proper functioning but it was not fruitful.
