BSF celebrates I-Day

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Frontier BSF celebrated 74nd Independence Day at the Frontier Headquarter, Meghalaya with flag hoisting by Sh. Kuldeep Saini, Inspector General, Meghalaya on Saturday. Battalions and sectors under command of the Frontier also celebrated the occasion at their respective locations, keeping in mind the novel coronavirus pandemic and ensuring adherence to all the protocols.
Apart from flag hoisting, bada khana and sweet distribution, various events such as route march, tree plantation, evacuation drill, border management drill and gifting sweets to counterpart (BGB) were also organised at various headquarters and the BOPs.
Awards
Four personnel of Meghalaya Frontier have been conferred police medals for meritorious service. They are Mohammed Ibrahim, Assistant Commandant , 43 BN BSF, Inspector Commandant Narender Kumar, 11 BN BSF, Inspector GD Mukesh Kumar, 11 BN BSF and CT/Cook B.C Kapali, SHQ BSF Jowai.
NASAC celebrations
CISF Unit NESAC Umiam celebrated 74th Independence Day with full vigour and joy by holding two flag-hoisting ceremonies, one at the Unit Barack and the other at main NESAC building. In Unit Barack, Unit Assistant Commandant, Ramadas M, hoisted the flag whereas at the main building of NESAC, Director of NESAC and other dignitaries along with the staff of NESAC.
