PPE distribution marks I-Day

SHILLONG: Lions Club of Shillong 322G marked the 74th Independence Day by raising awareness and distributing hand sanitisers and face masks in six areas of the city on Saturday.
Earlier, the flag was hoisted by Lion President BCG Marbaniang and his team at Lions Vocational-cum-Vision Centre, a statement said.
The sanitisers and face masks were distributed at Jhalupara Point, Police Bazaar, Laitumkhrah Market, Goraline, Madanryting, Rilbong by Lion Biman Talukdar to patients of Reid Chest Hospital, Barapathar, through its doctors and staff.
Rotary Club
The Rotary Club Shillong Heritage led by its president celebrated the Day by hoisting the tricolor and distributing food packets at Shelter Home for the Homeless, Rilbong.
Following this, fruits and juice bottles were handed over to the Superintendent, Civil Hospital, Shillong, for distribution among the COVID-19 patients.
Fruits were also handed over to the children at Hindu Mission, Mawprem.
