SHILLONG: The North-Eastern Hill University has refuted allegations of discrimination based on gender or community and harassment issues pertaining to the faculty describing these as an attempt to malign the university which affects the overall perception, its ranking and image.
The NEHU referred to two instances cited in media reports regarding non-compliance with certain directives and laws, which led to action against two HoDs and some Executive Council members.
Once again, this action taken by NEHU had nothing to do with gender issues, the statement said.
It said that NEHU is a Central University and receives its funding from the Centre to run its affairs in the “best interest of the students and society”.
