SHILLONG: Peeved with no action in the part of the state Health department to shift the old PHC building at Mawryngkneng to the new building, the Synjuk Ki Dorbar Hynriew Shnong has decided to start demonstration programme against the state Health department.
The Synjuk, comprising traditional heads of Mawryngkneng, Kut, Puriang, Pommura, Thangshalai and Ksehpyndeng, had convened a meeting last week, which concluded that there was no sign of progress made contradictory to the promises of the Health department.
The executive committee of the Dorbar Shnong of Mawryngkneng will hold a sit-in protest on August 28 from 10 am till 2 pm in front of Mawryngkneng PHC.
The traditional heads of all the six villages, on Wednesday, staged a sit-in protest in front of the PHC.
The Synjuk said that doctors at Mawryngkneng PHC are apprehensive to check and examine the patients as they do not have any protective gear, adding that this has turned into a disadvantage for the people in addition to the absence of ambulance.
The Synjuk had, earlier, sent a reminder to DHS (MI) Aman War on July 6, but there was no response.
