Deadline given to complete probe into allegations

SHILLONG: Following the disorder in Hima Nongspung, the KHADC EM in-charge of Elaka, Jambor War, has said that he has given a three-month deadline to the enquiry officer to complete the probe into the allegation against the suspended Syiem of Hima Nongspung, Patrick Syiemiong.
Speaking to reporters here, War also urged the residents of Hima Nongspung to be patient till the enquiry is concluded and then elect a full-fledged Syiem tasked to organise the Hima Nongspung, which is currently riddled with charges of corruption and uneasy equation with the current acting chief.
It may be mentioned that the Hima Nongspung was in the news over boundary dispute with Assam wherein the neighbouring state has been accused of constructing road in Hima Nongspung.
War said that in the last week of May, he had received five complaints against the Acting Chief of the Hima, of which 3 are from the Lyngdoh of the Hima, one from the residents of Nongspung after the acting (Contd on P-7)
