SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) on Tuesday issued a stern warning to the Centre and the state government to desist from taking advantage of the COVID-19 situation in the state to resume the railway project.
In a statement issued here, the organisation reiterated its opposition to both passenger and goods train services without the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP).
HYC said that discussion on railways should not happen in the state until ILP is implemented to prevent influx.
“Implement ILP and other important anti-influx laws and then we can talk of railways”, it added.
