MPHRC head attends UN Council’s session

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council (MPHRC) chairman, Dino DG Dympep, attended the 45th session of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC-45), which started its regular session in Geneva on Monday, via video conference.
In its annual September session, the Human Rights Council devotes two sessions of its agenda to consider issues specifically related to indigenous peoples’ rights.
During the HRC-45, a session will be dedicated to panel discussion about indigenous rights defenders, which will take place on September 23.
