SHILLONG: The Health department, on Thursday, laid down the guidelines for testing, quarantine and discharge of asymptomatic high-risk government functionaries.
In a statement, the department said that the officials can apply for discharge after seven days of quarantine.
The discharge will be subject to various factors.
After a functionary tests negative on rapid antigen testing, he/she will undergo RT-PCR, CBNAAT or TRUNATT test between the 5th and 6th day.
If the test result turns out to be negative, the official can obtain the discharge certificate and resume duties with adherence to all health protocols.
However, if the test report is positive, the official will have to undergo 10 days of isolation and follow all government-issued protocols.
