Helicopter services in Meghalaya to resume from Oct 1

GUWAHATI: Meghalaya government has permitted resumption of helicopter services in the State from October 1 next.

In an order issued in this regard, the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, M S Rao has stated that the permission to resume helicopter services has been given subject to compliance with the SoP being issued by the Transport Department of the state and strict adherence to the social distancing protocols of the state Health and Family Welfare Department.

The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills district has been entrusted to ensure compliance to these guidelines and restart the activities depending on the local situation and to meet the social distancing norms.

The helicopter services in the state has remained grounded because of COVID19 pandemic since the countrywide lockdown was imposed in the state.
