NONGSTOIN: Rambrai Jyrngam MLA, Kimfa S Marbaniang, has assured that the students from Rimuliang area under Rambrai Jyrngam constituency will be financially supported for their higher studies if they secure a position in the top-20 list of SSLC or HSSLC examination.
Marbaniang said this while speaking as the chief guest during a felicitation programme.
In a bid to encourage students to perform better academically, 13 meritorious students of Rimuliang area were felicitated by Rimuliang Zonal Youth Congress on Friday.
The felicitation programme, which was held at St. Francis De Sale Umwahlang, West Khasi Hills, was attended by Marbaniang among others.
It may be mentioned that the felicitation of meritorious students was the first of its kind in Rimuliang area under Rambrai Jyrngam Constituency.
Congratulating the students who passed the SSLC and HSSLC examinations, Marbaniang thanked the Rimuliang Zonal Youth Congress for taking up the initiative in organising the programme.
Mementoes and cash rewards were distributed to the students during the programme.
