NONGSTOIN: After over a week since the live burial of a 90-year-old man at Nongdisong, the Dorbar of Nongdisong village has steered clear of the case stating that it had no knowledge about the incident and has nothing to do with it.
Revealing this during a press conference on Monday, Headman of Nongdisong village Christopher Lyngdoh Peiñlang said that the Executive Dorbar condemns the act.
He also informed that the village authority will work hand in hand with the district police to ensure that perpetrators of this heinous crime are booked as per law.
Meanwhile, Sylvester Ryntong, Secretary of the village, urged upon the general public not to socially discriminate the locals of Nongdisong village since the crime was committed only by some members of Marngar clan without the knowledge of the village authority or the villagers.
