FIR against VEC members
Shimti Mary Shangdiar, Nitsidian Ronsang and Wankyntiewdorlin Nongsiej — residents of Mawrapad village , East Khasi Hills — lodged a complaint that Kyrmenskhem Shangdiar, Chairman of Village Executive Committee, Headman of Mawrapad and Social Auditor of Mawsynram Block, Plasterwel Nonglait, Secretary of VEC, and other members of VEC, without authority opened several bank accounts with ATM facilities in the name of various job card holders and fraudulently withdrew money meant for the job card holders.

Theft bid
On November 11 noon, police apprehended one Sahil Thakuri (reportedly a habitual junkie) while attempting to sell one stolen mobile phone at Polo, Shillong.
On November 11 around 12.30 pm, one Bishu Ali (26) was caught red-handed while stealing one parcel from a courier delivery person at Mawlonghat, Iewduh.
On November 11 around 12.15 pm, residents of Jaiaw Lansonalane, Shillong, caught red-handed one Johnson VR Basaiawmoit while attempting to commit theft from the residence of L Kharsyntiew.
On November 11, Prakash Kumar Lunia of Oakland, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on September 18 morning, he learnt from his driver/mechanic that unknown miscreants damaged 3/4 wires of his Kia Seltos vehicle (ML-05U-0891) in an attempt to steal the vehicle.

KYC scam
Mirabelle Jyrwa lodged a complaint that on October 15, she received one SMS informing that due to incomplete KYC, her SBI account will be suspended, and that she would have to call a mobile number to complete the KYC process. Later, the complainant called the given number and divulged her account and debit card details. On the next day, the complainant received an SMS alert saying that Rs 68,760 has been debited from her account through six online transactions.

Break-in
On November 10, a theft was committed at Church of God, Nongdawah Mawryngkneng, EKH. During inquiry, it was transpired that unknown miscreants broke into the church and stole Rs 50,000.

Cattle seized
Coy Commander, 28 Bn, BSF, lodged a complaint that on November 9 around 6.30 pm, BSF personnel noticed some cattle at Marngpara village under BOP Gopinath Killa, SWGH. Further, on November 9, BSF personnel on duty in area from 109/5s to 1093 MP of BOP Gopinathkila, detected suspicious movement of 3-4 persons along with 3-4 heads of cattle and asked them to stop. However, they refused and brandished their machetes. Following this, BSF personnel fired one round from his weapon, PAG (non-lethal weapon), after which they fled away. During search of the area, BSF personnel recovered two head of cattle.

Assault
Besfulman Langte, Secretary of Nolikata village, SWKH, lodged a complaint that on November 8 around 11.30 pm, three persons, viz. Num Marak, Chiliman R Sangma and Nikman Marak created nuisance in the village. Following the intervention from the complainant, the trio assaulted him, causing grievous injuries. Later, the complainant found that cash Rs. 10,000 was also missing.

Vehicle return failed
Aaron Tochri Marak lodged a complaint that on November 7 around 9 am, her neighbour, viz. Desmond Ryntathiang, took her vehicle (ML-05V-0592) from Dhankheti with a promise to return back the same within 5-6 hours. However, he failed to return the vehicle till date.
