Union min wants to attend Monolith Fest

SHILLONG: Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda, has expressed his desire to attend the Monolith Festival, which is usually organised by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
Munda revealed his desire pay a visit to the state during the Monolith Festival to the KHADC Chairman, Pyniaid Syiem, who had gone to meet the former in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Syiem said they conferred about the financial assistance as per Article 175 (1), which they have not received since 2016. “We have also expressed our need to get financial assistance to pay salaries to the employees of the Council as the funds from the state government are very less,” the KHADC Chairman said.
