BSF gifts football kits to sports enthusiasts in SWKH

SHILLONG, Nov 23: The BSF, as part of its border management plan, had recently organised a civic action programme at Maheshkhola School playground in South West Khasi Hills where it provided football kits to sports enthusiasts.
According to a statement on Monday, the 170 Bn of BSF under Sector Hq BSF Shillong, organised the programme in collaboration with Bonbera Border Youth Club.
During the programme, a friendly football match was organised between women teams of Maheshkhola and Mahadev. “Sports items including three footballs, a football net and 30 pairs of football jerseys were distributed among the members of Bonbera Border Youth Club and women sportspersons of Maheshkhola and Mahadev,” the statement said.
The programme was also attended by the headmen and the locals
The BSF has, meanwhile, felt the need organising more sports activities in border areas in order to promote sports and recognise skilled sportspersons.
