Truck dismantled after accident, falls into gorge

NONGSTOIN, Nov 23: In a brutal accident on Monday evening, a truck collided with a guard wall at Jaidoh Kroh in Nongspung village, West Khasi Hills, at an enormous force making the vehicle’s body fall into the gorge while the tyres and some other parts were cut off and lay near the wall.
Police informed that the truck (ML 06 4896) was carrying sand and proceeding from Nongkasen to Nongspung village when the accident happened en route.
The driver, Looking star Lyngkhoi (26), hailing from Porsohsat village, and handyman Donboklang Lyngkhoi of Mynniar village were seriously injured and taken to Nongstoin Civil Hospital.
Earlier in 2018, a truck hit the guard wall Jaidoh Kroh in an accident which took the lives of 20 people and left many seriously wounded.
