Nartiang Dolloi on the run after rape charge

JOWAI, Dec 5: The traditional chief, locally known as the Dolloi, of Nartiang Elaka, Hepsing Dhar, has been absconding after a case of rape was registered against him.
Confirming this, West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police said a woman had registered the case against the Dolloi at Nartiang Police Station.
According to sources, Dhar had allegedly perpetrated a similar crime in July, 2018, and a case was registered against him under POCSO Act.
Dhar, who is also a traditional medicine practitioner, had allegedly raped a 16-year-old two years ago inside his private clinic.
