Unclaimed body
On December 9, one person, aged between 35-40 years, was found lying unconscious near Matri Mandir, Polo Bazar. It was following this, he was rushed to Civil Hospital. However, on December 10, the aforesaid person passed away. The body, after inquest and autopsy, has been kept at the hospital’s morgue. According to a statement on Thursday, the height of the deceased is 4.8 ft and his complexion is dark, his face is round and he has a tattoo on the right side of the chest and right arm. His hair is short and is black. He also has a moustache and a thin beard. He was found wearing grey jacket, black track pant with white stripes, and had prayer beads on the neck. Competition
Agastya International Foundation, a Bangalore-based non-profit organisation, will organise ‘JIGNYASA 2020’ with problem-solving competition for students and TLM-making competition for teachers from December 17 to 19. According to a statement, seven students have been shortlisted for the event, which include three from Jail Road Boys H/s School, two from St Nanak UPS, and one each from Shillong Sec School and RB Anupchand Hindi Sec School.

Bar timings
The state government has approved the timing for functioning of IMFL ‘On’ from 1 pm till 9:30 pm form December 18. However, strict adherence to COVID-19 SOPs in bars has also been accentuated.

Night curfew
West Jaintia Hills District Magistrate has relaxed the night curfew in the district for December 24 and 31 in view of Christmas and New Year.
