FASTag notice
Informing that the National Electronic Toll Collection (FASTag) programme has been implemented on pan-India basis, the Project Director of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said that starting January 1, 2021, the user fee will be collected only through FASTag and vehicles without valid FASTag will have to pay double the user fee at all toll plazas in all lanes.

Illicit liquor
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise) of East Khasi Hills has informed that the office has been actively carrying out drives against illicit liquor and has conducted raids in restaurants, stalls in the town and its outskirts. During November, the excise staff detected 26 cases with a seizure of 306.575 litres of i/d liquor and 6.370 litres IMFL. In this connection, 18 persons have been arrested under the Excise Act and the cases are under investigation/prosecution.

The Deputy Commissioner (Excise) of East Khasi Hills has informed that all licensees of IMFL ‘ON’ are permitted to operate their retail business up to 9:30 pm as usual except on dry days with strict adherence to all the protocols.
