BSF-BGB talks resolve border issues

SHILLONG, Dec 26: The 51st DG-level talks between Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) came to an end on Saturday with many transborder issues getting ironed out.
Informing this, UK Nayal, DIG PRO BSF Meghalaya, said, “The DG-level talks ended successfully in a candid manner and in a cordial atmosphere. Almost all the issues raised in the meeting were resolved through mutual consent.”
The meeting, which was held at Guwahati from December 22, also resolved to set up a conducive environment for smooth functioning of both the forces.
Following the completion of the meeting, the delegation of the BGB reached BSF Meghalaya Frontier and had an informal meeting with IG Hardeep Singh and other officers of BSF Meghalaya.
Nayal said that stress was laid on sharing of real-time information and carrying out joint operations against criminals and smugglers. “We hope that our friendship gets stronger by passage of time,” he added.
