SHILLONG, Jan 8: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) Committee held a special sitting on Friday and deliberated about matters related to scientific coal mining and auctioning of coal in Meghalaya.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman of NGT Committee, Justice BD Agarwal, via virtual conferencing.
It was informed that the Committee was unable to take up many agendas due to bad network connectivity.
However, issues related to a complaint of incidental removal of coal from road construction in South West Khasi Hills were taken up. Committee member Shantanu Dutta submitted the report on the matter.
The next sitting of the committee is likely to be held by the end of this month.
