NGEA to discuss GHADC anomalies with organisations
TURA, Jan 22: A meeting between the Non Gazetted Employees’ Association (NGEA) of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and various local organisations will be organised at the Nokma Council Conference Hall at Lower Babupara in Tura on Monday. The meeting has been called by the NGEA to confer about the ongoing salary crisis in the GHADC besides other issues within it. “The meeting will include sharing of relevant information and will look at ways to provide support to this particular issue,” president of NGEA, Senora Johny Arengh, said. Among those who have been invited to the meeting include presidents and secretaries of Tura Senior Citizens Forum, Council of Nokmas, Mothers’ Union, GSU, NESO, FKJGP, GSMC, AYWO, ADE, All Garo Hills Employees’ Association, Garo Hills United Labour Union, ANVC, ANVC (B), etc.

Village celebrates M’laya Day
NONGPOH, Jan 22: Rongmesek Village, famous for its historical Phrut Dak Lake and Mawkyndur Peak, celebrated the 49th Meghalaya Day in a glittering function held at the village on Thursday. During the celebration, state fighters including Dominic Timung, Joy Taro and Chikraw Timung were felicitated. Also, family member s of late Jaipo Thang Taro and late Valerian Timung represented the two fighters during the felicitation.

TURA, Jan 22: The South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has appointed EAC, Ampati, WCR Marak, and Deputy Director, Supply, Nemson M Marak as District Grievances Redressal Officer (DGRO) and Assistant Grievances Redressal Officer (AGRO) respectively, under NFSA, 2013, for South West Garo Hills. Man missing
SHILLONG, Jan 22: One Raja Roy (28), son of Sumi Roy of Nongmensong, Shillong, went missing from his residence on September 16, 2019. According to a statement, the missing person is five-feet tall and has a dark complexion; his nose is pointed and his face structure is round.
