SHILLONG, Jan 29: Health Minister AL Hek has assured that the state government is committed towards providing accessible, affordable and quality healthcare to its citizens, especially the economically weaker section of society, by opening more health centres in the state.

The Health Minister, during the programme, inaugurated the sub-centre in the presence of HSPDP MLA Samlin Malngiang and DHS (MI) Dr Aman War.
Exhorting pregnant women to visit the centre for regular check-ups and vaccinations for newborns, the Health Minister said that the medical staff in the newly inaugurated sub-centre will sensitise women to improve health habits so as to reduce maternal and infant mortality rate.
