WKH gets emergency service training school

SHILLONG, Feb 2: Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Tuesday inaugurated the Fire & Emergency Service Training School at Mairang in West Khasi Hills.
According to a statement, the inaugural programme was also attended by Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, DGP R Chandranathan among other government officials.
The programme kick-started with the DGP’s welcome address, which was followed by medal presentations to police officials and demonstration of techniques adopted by F86ES Organisation in their endeavour to mitigate disasters. “An exhibition of all the equipment available with F8EES Organisation was also displayed in the programme,” the statement said.
Rymbui, during his address, lauded the Police department for taking the initiatives to set up the training school. He also shared about the positive outcomes that will emerge out of the training school.
The Speaker, on the other hand, dwelt spoke at length about the requirement for setting up the training school and also about different kinds of trainings that will be imparted in the future. According to the statement, the training school will conduct Basic Elementary Fire Fighting Training as well as Cadre Courses for new recruits and in-service officials.
