JOWAI, Feb 17: A day after there was chaos at Ialong toll plaza in West Jaintia Hills over toll tax in line with FASTag implementation, the All Jaintia Cement and Clinker Transporters’ Association (AJCCTA) has called upon owners of commercial and private vehicles in Jaintia Hills to take form a resolution against the alleged exorbitant taxes collected at toll gates in the state such as Byrnihat, 20th Mile (Arpher Mer), Diengpasoh, Ialong and Lumshnong toll plazas.
The Association has scheduled the public meeting for Saturday to be held at Hynniaw-mer (7th Mile) in West Jaintia Hills district.
This was decided during an executive committee meeting of the Association held at its office in Lumshnong village, East Jaintia Hills.
Earlier on Tuesday, vehicles were seen making a bee line at the Ialong toll plaza in West Jaintia Hills, which was the result of altercation between the drivers and the staff of toll plaza.
